Psychological Evaluations for VAWA
Helping victims of abuse support their VAWA immigration application.
You're worried about being deported and you feel alone. Your attorney recommended a psychological evaluation to support your application, but you wonder if it'll actually make a difference, and you're worried about seeing a therapist because you don't want to be judged.
While a psychological evaluation for your VAWA application doesn't guarantee a favorable legal outcome, it is designed to address specific legal questions related to your case that your attorney alone can't answer.
You'll feel better knowing you followed your attorney's recommendation and did everything possible to support your case. You may also find the process of completing a psychological evaluation helpful in understanding all that you've been through so you can begin the process of healing.
Hi, I'm Daisy (she/her).
I'm a trauma therapist, and I specialize in conducting psychological evaluations for immigration cases.
I work with immigrants, victims of crime and abuse, and LGBTQIA+ folks.
The Trauma-Informed Approach
A trauma-informed evaluation helps capture the lasting emotional and psychological harm caused by the abuse and manipulation you survived.
When I conduct psychological evaluations for VAWA applications, I start by reviewing any documents from your attorney or agency you are working with. I'll ask you about the details of what you went through, and the effect it's had on you and your life. This will be difficult to talk about, but I will help you get back to feelings of safety in your body if you become overwhelmed or start to feel numb.
I'll also need to gather any other records relevant to your case. I'll then write up a comprehensive report addressing the specific legal issues or questions related to your application. This written report will then be used by your lawyer in your court proceedings.
Step 1
Click “Book an Evaluation” and submit your inquiry.
